Ram Goal Verma clarified his tweet regarding Droupadi Murmu.
In New Delhi, Ram Gopal Varma, a filmmaker whose tweets frequently get him in hot water, has stoked a new controversy. His provocative remark against Droupadi Murmu, the BJP’s presidential candidate, which included a reference to the “Mahabharata,” has resulted in a complaint being brought against him.
“Who are the Pandavas if DRAUPADI is the President? And more significantly, who are the KAURAVAS? “, he tweeted.

Gudur Narayana Reddy, a senior in the Telangana BJP, complained about Mr. Varma for the tweet, saying it was disrespectful to the SC/ST community. “The police have assured us that they would prosecute him harshly.
Soon after, the director provided clarification: “My favourite character in the Mahabharata is Draupadi, but since the name is so uncommon, I only remembered the characters that were associated with it, which is why my attitude is what it is not at all intended to offend anyone’s feelings “.
Ram Gopal Varma was criticised by a different Telangana-based BJP MLA who claimed that the filmmaker tweets such things while “drunk.” He continued, “Varma always strives to be in the spotlight by making such divisive comments.
Mr. Varma recently intervened in a dispute over Hindi being the official language between Bollywood star Ajay Devgn and Kannada actor Sudeep Sanjeev. He charged Bollywood stars with being “insecure and jealous” of their southern competitors’ success in a tweet.

The US dollar was seen losing ground against the rupee in interbank trading on Wednesday morning as it fell by 50 paisa, with analysts linking the development to optimism surrounding the expected release of loan tranches by the International Monetary Fund (IMF). According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the greenback depreciated Rs1.45 against the previous day's close of Rs206 to reach Rs204.55 around 1:20pm. The FAP's closing rate of the last session shows a difference of 87 paisa from that of the State Bank of Pakistan, recorded at Rs206.87. By closing time on Wednesday, the greenback was being traded at Rs205.50 in the interbank. Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan General Secretary Zafar Paracha attributed the international currency's fall to the possibility of the IMF releasing two combined tranches of around $1.85 billion instead of the initially expected single tranche of around $1bn.
